Revolutionizing Clean Water Access
The Because Accelerator is a highly selective program that supports early-stage social enterprises tackling some of the world’s most pressing challenges. Out of hundreds of applicants, SafeSip Straws was chosen as the top winner, recognized for our innovative approach to providing access to clean, safe drinking water in rural Tanzania.
Our patent-pending SafeSip Straws use a 3-stage filtration system to remove 99.99% of harmful pathogens from any natural water source. Priced at just $5 per straw with a 5-year lifetime, this affordable and portable solution is truly revolutionizing how rural communities access clean water.
Accelerating Our Impact
In the past year alone, SafeSip Straws have reached over 4,035 children, keeping them healthy and in school by eliminating the threat of waterborne illnesses. This award will allow us to dramatically scale our impact, expanding distribution, optimizing our technology, and empowering even more families across Tanzania.
