August 29, 2025 — SafeSip, a Tanzanian social enterprise dedicated to providing affordable and sustainable water filtration solutions, is proud to announce its selection as part of the ACIC 2025 Cohort.
Founded by Faith Kuya, SafeSip has developed a portable, eco-friendly straw that filters 99.99% of pathogens, ensuring safe drinking water in rural communities across East Africa. The Africa Climate Innovation Challenge (ACIC) is a prestigious accelerator program that identifies and supports startups addressing climate challenges in Africa. SafeSip’s selection into the 2025 cohort underscores its innovative approach to tackling water insecurity and its potential for scalable impact.
“We are thrilled to be recognized by ACIC for our work in providing safe drinking water,” said Constantine Edward, COO of SafeSip. “This selection motivates our team to continue innovating and making a positive impact in communities across Africa.”
