SafeSip Awarded Tech For Change Recognition at VivaTech 2025

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PARIS, FRANCE – May 26, 2025 – SafeSip, a pioneering social enterprise dedicated to providing clean drinking water through innovative filtration solutions, has been honored with the prestigious Tech For Change award at VivaTech 2025. This recognition celebrates SafeSip’s impactful work in addressing global challenges, particularly in delivering safe hydration to rural communities in East Africa.

Under the leadership of CEO Faith Kuya, SafeSip has developed affordable, portable water filtration straws made from recycled ocean plastic, featuring a three-stage filtration system that removes 99.99% of pathogens. These durable straws, with a lifespan of up to five years, empower communities by reducing waterborne diseases and minimizing single-use plastic waste. In rural East Africa, where 63 million people lack access to safe drinking water, SafeSip’s solution is transforming lives by improving health, education, and resilience.

“We are deeply honored to receive the Tech For Change award,” said Faith Kuya, CEO of SafeSip. “This recognition validates our mission to make clean water accessible to all while promoting sustainability. We’re excited to showcase our vision at VivaTech and continue driving positive change, one sip at a time.”

SafeSip is exhibiting at VivaTech 2025 at Booth M38-006, where attendees can explore how the company’s innovative straws are creating a sustainable impact. Additionally, SafeSip is among the six finalists selected to pitch on the main stage, offering a chance to further amplify its mission.
