Nairobi, Kenya – June 22, 2025 — SafeSip is proud to announce that its Founder and CEO, Faith Kuya, has been named a finalist in the 2025 WE Empower United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDG) Challenge, a prestigious global award that recognizes exceptional women entrepreneurs advancing the UN Sustainable Development Goals through business.
The WE Empower Challenge celebrates 25 trailblazing women leaders from across the world, selected for their innovation, impact, and commitment to sustainable development. Faith Kuya’s selection highlights her groundbreaking work through SafeSip — a social enterprise dedicated to providing accessible, sustainable, and affordable water safety solutions to underserved communities.
“This recognition is not just about me — it’s a powerful spotlight on the mission behind SafeSip,” said Faith Kuya. “We are driven by the belief that everyone, regardless of where they live, deserves access to clean and safe drinking water. Being part of this global movement validates our journey and amplifies our message.”
Since its inception, SafeSip has transformed lives in rural and urban areas alike, promoting health, hygiene, and community empowerment through eco-friendly innovations in water purification and distribution. Under Faith’s leadership, SafeSip continues to champion SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation, while also advancing gender equality, climate action, and inclusive economic growth.
The five awardees of the WE Empower Challenge will be announced later this month. As a finalist, Faith Kuya joins a network of global changemakers and will participate in high-level UN events and leadership forums.
